Public Session: Proposed Minor Revisions to VMR0006 Methodology for Installation of High Efficiency Firewood Cookstoves

Verra has released a general public consultation to search for responses on proposed slight revisions to VMR0006 Methodology for Installation of Significant Effectiveness Firewood Cookstoves, v1.1.
VMR0006 is a revision to CDM methodology AMS-II.G., Electricity performance measures in thermal programs of non-renewable biomass. VMR0006 applies to assignments that deploy enhanced thermal strength generation products, like cookstoves, ovens, and dryers.
The proposed slight revisions to VMR0006 consist of the next:
- Editorial improvements, including a reference to the newest variation of AMS-II.G.
- Updates to the pursuing default values:
- baseline product effectiveness
- regular yearly consumption of woody biomass
- wooden-to-charcoal conversion element
- non-CO2 emission aspect for wooden gasoline
- A new solution for the perseverance of task stove efficiencies and
- Incorporation of the Errata and Clarifications revealed by Verra in Oct 2022.
Verra initiated a assessment of VMR0006 activated by a well-launched worry about a misalignment involving VMR0006 and the most recent model of the referenced CDM methodology (AMS-II.G.). The evaluation was done in accordance with the VCS Methodology Development and Evaluation Method, v4.2, and established that the methodology calls for a insignificant revision.
This minor revision is unique from the ongoing enhancement of the proposed VCS Consolidated Methodology for Enhanced Thermal Strength Technology Units (M0174) announced in June 2022, led by Atmosphere Alternate, the expert appointed by Verra. Appropriate responses from this session may well also advise the ongoing enhancement of this consolidated methodology, which Verra expects to launch by the conclude of the 12 months.
Verra served as the principal author of the proposed insignificant revisions to VMR0006, v1.1, immediately after consulting with other professionals in this room.
The grace time period for detailed projects to entire validation beneath the recent model of VMR0006 will stop on 28 June 2023, 3 months from the launch of this announcement, right after which initiatives need to comprehensive validation underneath the revised methodology. Registered initiatives will be needed to swap to the hottest authorised model of the methodology at the venture crediting period renewal, if relevant. All tasks have the solution to switch to the revised methodology as shortly as it is authorised.
